Azimuth Management Consulting (AMC) has completed a programme of work to migrate c.500,000 in-force policies and another 500,000 out of force policies from four core systems across two financial services organisations onto the Irish Life core platform.

AMC were involved in the defining the approach, sizing, scoping and costing the programme as well as the establishment of the overall governance. AMC were actively involved in the programme and stakeholder management to ensure the programme delivered to time and budget.

Across these two migration programmes Azimuth Management Consulting were responsible for :

  • Preparation and running of workshops to determine gaps, features and consolidations
  • Preparing estimates of effort and cost by resource type
  • Planning
  • Determining phasing and migration approach
  • Determining test and reconciliation approach
  • Establishment of processes, tools, governance and decisioning mechanisms

Design and implementation of the project structure along with definition of project roles and responsibilities

In order to fit products from a source system to target a level of product consolidation is required and along with certain feature enhancements This needed strict process and audit controls and traceable decision tracking mechanisms.

Implementation of process and tools to support data mapping and the translation of these mapping rules and decisions into program specifications.

Design, build and test of the ETL programs.

The data mapping, ETLs and target systems had to be tested. AMC designed, documented and implemented the test and reconciliation strategy and approach.

Processes and tools were implemented to enable the project office to monitor Budget Vs Actual and plan Vs deliverable.
